Kano famous industrialist and chairman of Mainsara & Sons, Nasiru Ahali is dead.
He died aged 108.
His son, Aminu Ahali,said his father died at a hospital in Kano on Thursday night.
The late Ahali was one of the pioneer industrialists in Kano, known for establishing a formal business environment with organisational structure.
His business concerns included book publishing, printing, block manufacturing, quarry business, importation, general contracts, estate development, metal works, among others.
Members of the Maitatsine sect killed two of his sons during the Kano uprising when the insurgents stormed his house on December 18, 1980.
His funeral prayer will take place at Nasiru Ahali Jummu’a Mosque, Kurnan Asabe at 1pm on Friday.
