A member of the House of Representatives representing Dawakin Kudu/Warawa Federal Constituency of Kano State, Mohammed Hassan, is dead.
He died at the age of 62, leaving behind three wives and 18 children.
The late lawmaker reportedly died on Friday at a hospital in Abuja following a brief illness.
One of his aides, Muhammed Yaro Daba, said in a statement that funeral prayers would be held at the deceased’s residence in Abuja on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
He described Hassan as a respected legal scholar and committed community leader whose life was marked by service and integrity.
He also prayed for Allah’s mercy on the deceased and for strength for the bereaved family to bear the loss.
Hassan was elected into the House of Representatives in 2023 under the platform of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).
He later defected alongside his political leader, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
