A female pilgrim from Kano State, Hadiza Isma’il, 58, has died during Hajj in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
She died of a brief illness on Monday at about 3:15 pm Saudi local time.
Hajiya Isma’il caught a fever and she was taken to NAHCON hospital for treatment and later transferred to the King Abdulaziz Hospital, Makka, where she was certified dead.
She had since been buried in Makkah after a funeral prayer in Kaaba Mosque.
The Director-General, Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Laminu Rabiu Danbappa said her death was sad and condoled with the family of the deceased on behalf of the state governor, Engineer Abba Kabir Yusuf.
He prayed that the Almighty Allah grant the deceased eternal rest, as well as to grant the family members the fortitude to bear the loss.
