The Kano Emirate Council has lost one of its prominent members and revered Islamic scholars, Sheikh Kabiru Ibrahim Babban Malami Madabo, who passed away on Thursday evening at his residence in Madabo Quarters, Kano City, after a brief illness.
Announcing the death, his eldest son, Sheikh Abubakar Kabiru Madabo, said the late cleric died at the age of 85. He is survived by three wives, 26 children, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Until his death, Sheikh Kabiru was a permanent member of the Kano Emirate Council, where he served as a key adviser to the Emir on Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh) and the application of Sharia in everyday life, particularly in matters of worship, morality, and social legislation guided by the teachings of the Holy Qur’an and Hadith of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
His funeral prayer was conducted at the Emir’s Palace, Kofar Kudu, Kano. It was led by the 15th Emir of Kano Dr.Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, Leader of Qadiriyya movement in Africa Dr. Qaribullahi Nasir Kabara, Wazirin Kano, SSG Kano among others.
