The 16th Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, has stated that those fighting his reinstatement as emir of Kano are going against the will of Allah, adding that the tussle was not about him personally but about divine destiny and Allah’s will.
Sanusi made this statement in a voice message posted on Premier Radio social media handle on Monday. In the message which was in Hausa language, Sanusi declared that fire would consume anyone attempting to disrupt the peace in the state.
While urging the people of Kano to remain patient and prayerful, the Emir maintained that the tussle over the emirate was the handiwork of enemies of the state..
“We are calling on the people to continue praying and also be law-abiding citizens. This tussle is not targeted at me; they are fighting what God has destined to happen. God doesn’t need anyone’s support,” he said.
This development is coming at a point when the emirate tussle sis taking a new dimension as fear and tension became high over the planned Sallah Durbar by both parties.
