Four days after he was elected chairman of Bebeji local government in Kano State, Alhaji Ali Namadi, is dead.
Aged 57, the late chairman, elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), drove himself to a hospital in the area to undertake medical checkup only to end up dead at 1 am, APC publicity committee chairman of Bebeji local government area, Ibrahim Adamu Tiga, told newsmen.
Namadi, together with 43 others, were elected in a local government election held on Saturday.
He will be buried Tuesday in Bebeji.
