The Kano State Hisbah Board on Wednesday banned the use of mannequins to display clothes by supermarkets, boutiques, and tailors across the state.
In a statement by its Commander-General, Shaikh Harun Ibn Sina, the board said the use of mannequins contravened Islamic injunctions, and described its use for advert purposes as idolatry.
The statement further said that the board would embark on sensitisation of the public to educate them on how Islam frowns at the use of mannequins, after which the board would embark of raiding of the affirmation places.
