The state assembly had on June 5 suspended the anti-graft boss for a month over his refusal to accept an accountant posted to the agency from the office of the state Accountant General.

It said the suspension was to pave way for proper investigation into the issue.

The Accountant General of the state had petitioned the House over Magaji-Rimingado’s rejection the accountant posted to the agency, and appointing a grade level 4 staff as an accountant of the commission, contrary to state law.

The lawmakers directed Rimingado to be at the Assembly’s Conference Hall on Wednesday by 12:00 noon.

The lawmakers had in another letter directed the anti-graft commission to furnish it with details of recovery accounts from 2015 to date on or before the invitation date.

It also demanded all cash remittances file; Details of Recoveries made from 2015 to date; Details of all beneficiaries to the recoveries made Bank statements for Recovery, Expenditure and over-head cost accounts from the periods of 2015 to date; and Details of donations, aids, grants and assistance received by the commission from companies, individuals, Government Ministries, Departments, and Agencies from the period of 2015 to date.

Similarly, others are, details of payments made from expenditure account from the period of 2015 to date; Details of Debt/Loans the Commission has to settle to the clients from 2015 to date; Details of the Cash Payments from the recovery account, Details of beneficiaries in respect of Cash Payment from the recovery account from the period of 2015 to date, Details of all payments made from recovery account from 2015 to date; All cash books from the period of 2015 to date.

However, there were insinuations that some people close to the state governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, want to remove the anti-graft boss for allegations not yet known.
