Famous Kannywood singer, Muhammad Mu’azu Birniwa (El-Muaz Birniwa), is dead.
A leading figure in Kannywood’s singing sector, Ali Jita had broke the news of the death of the singer on his verified social media handle saying, “it was reliably gathered that, late El-Mu’az is going to be buried in Kaduna while his funeral prayer is scheduled to take place at Zangon Daura mosque situated at NDC quarters Kaji.”
The singer, according to sources close to the Hausa filmmaking industry, the singer slumped while playing a friendly football match in Kaduna.
The match was said to have been organized to celebrate the marriage of one of his colleagues in the industry Auta Waziri who is also a singer.
“He appeared to be in good health when he arrived at the football arena, but all of a sudden he slumped while playing. After he was taken to the hospital, the doctors pronounced him dead.
“It was indeed a hard reality to come to terms with, but that’s Allah’s wish. El-Muaz is no more,” the source revealed.
Late El-Mu’az was a household name in Kannywood as a singer, he had several songs to his credit such as Kafi Gaban Raini, Kudi dan Maciji, Naka Sai Naka, Kaunar ki among others.
