The Kaduna State Security Council has announced a restriction on vehicular movement across all 23 Local Government Areas from 6 am to 7 pm on Saturday, coinciding with local government elections.
In a statement, Samuel Aruwan, the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, said the restriction aims to facilitate a peaceful and orderly electoral process.
“During this period, all vehicular movement, as well as commercial and related activities that may hinder law and order, will be prohibited,” he stated. “Only individuals engaged in essential duties are exempt from this restriction, provided they have proper identification and clearance.”
The statement also urged citizens to avoid actions that could disrupt public peace or hinder the smooth conduct of the elections.
Security agencies will be deployed to enforce the restrictions, and the public is encouraged to report any activities that threaten law and order to the appropriate authorities, rather than taking matters into their own hands.
