An inferno burnt a couple and their daughter to death incident in Kafanchan town in Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
They were asleep when the fire whose sources could not be determined.
Residents said they only saw smoke billowing out of the house around 11 pm on Tuesday night.
A neighbour of the victims, Maikano Abdullahi, whose property was also burnt in the fire, said efforts to rescue the family members from the fire failed.
“I woke up upon hearing my wife shouting for help as fire gutted Zainab’s room which is next to our room.
”What happened was terrible. We tried our best to break the door at the time of the fire incident but we couldn’t enter because the door was locked. Unfortunately, the couple; Abdurrahman Abdullahi aka Danjummai, his wife, Zainab Nuhu, and their daughter, Husna, all lost their lives in the inferno before we succeeded in breaking the door,” he said
He explained that those around could hear the wife’s scream for help, lamenting that they couldn’t do anything to help as the fire had gutted the room.
