The Kaduna State Government has confirmed the abduction of pupils and teachers from a primary school in the state.
Bandits on 12 motorcycle abducted several pupils and teachers of UBE Primary School in Rama, a village in Birnin Gwari local government area, while trooping to school at about 8am on Monday.
The state’s Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, said in a statement that the state government has received “security reports of kidnapping of some pupils and teachers in a primary school located in Rema, Birnin Gwari local government area.”
“According to preliminary reports, the incident occurred at an LEA Primary School in the LGA.”
Aruwan said the government was obtaining details on the actual number of pupils and teachers reported to have been kidnapped.
He assured that it will issue a comprehensive statement as soon as possible.
