Soldiers of the Nigerian Army have evacuated the remaining students of Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation (FCFM), Kaduna State, to the 1 Division Garrison Command of the Nigerian Army in Ribadu Cantonment.
This followed the abduction of undisclosed students of the school, mainly female, by bandits early Friday morning. A security source said some of the students were rescued during the attack, but the bandits left with an unconfirmed number of students.
He said the situation would have been worse had the Nigerian Air Force and ground troops not intervened on time.
The state’s Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, had earlier confirmed the incident. He said investigation was still ongoing.
The state Police Command also said it was working with the Nigerian Army to trace the kidnappers and rescue the students.
