The All Progressives Congress (APC) Patriotic Volunteers, an intellectual coalition of APC members in Kano state, has described the two-year administration of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in Kano State as a total failure.
It accused of incompetence while serving as a hub for public funds mismanagement.
Speaking at a press conference held in Kano, the group’s National President of the group, Alhaji Usman Alhaji (Wazirin Gaya), said a “holistic review” of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s performance revealed insignificant improvement when compared to the volume of resources the state got from the federal government salvations.
“There is virtually little to show when compared with the billions of naira accruing to the state,” he said.
Alhaji Usman said the governor’s public admission of failure on water supply reflected the administration’s poor policy direction and leadership.
He condemned the government’s controversial demolition exercise, saying it defied court orders and resulted in massive losses, citing the K/Mata Eid Ground and Daula Hotel cases. He also accused the administration of ignoring court rulings on the Emirate Council and Kano State Independent Electoral Commission (KANSIEC) matters.
Alhaji Usman said the government had failed to act on several committee reports, including those on local government drug procurement, the Sallah Day killings, the Kano megacity initiative, and the Rimin Zakara crisis.
“The NNPP government is a good example of retrogression, marked by arbitrary dismissals, abandoned road and flyover projects, as well as a worsening public service delivery,” Alhaji Usman concluded.
However, up till this moment the Kano State Government didn’t respond to the allegations labeled against it by APC..
