The absence of Taiwo Taiwo, the presiding judge of the Federal High Court, Abuja, on Wednesday, again stalled the continuation of the fraud trial of a former Head of Service (HoS) of the Federation, Winifred Oyo-Ita.
Counsel to the parties in the matter, including the defendants were in court.
The case came up on December 1, 2020, but counsel to the former HoS, Paul Erokoro and other defendants’ lawyers, urged the court to adjourn the trial sine die over alleged abuse of court process by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The judge then adjourned the ruling on the application by the defendants’ counsel until December 3, 2020, but the matter could not hold, and was later fixed for January 13.
