Jigawa state Government will establish 200 nomadic schools and employ 270 herders from the 27 local government areas in the state.
Jigawa State Governor Muhammad Abubakar Badaru disclosed this when he received the Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, a socio cultural Fulani organization at Government House in Dutse.
A statement by his spokesperson, Malam Habibu Nuhu Kila, on Saturday, said Badaru’s administration was committed to providing education to all citizens of the state including the herders for the development of the state.
He said in addition to about 400 nomadic schools across the state, the government will establish 200 more new nomadic schools and employ 10 herders from each of the 27 local government areas.
He said in his recent working tour to Netherlands, plans are underway to expand the existing cattle routes and grazing reserves which will provide enough all year grass for the nomadic.
Governor Badaru urged the association to support the government in the fight against negative vices among the Fulani especially youths who are engaged in criminal activities.
Chairman of the association, Alhaji Adamu Hadejia, said they will do everything possible to ensure that the relative peace that exist between farmers and herders is maintained and with the support of the government they will fish out any criminals among them.
