The Jigawa State governor, Umar Namadi, has assigned portfolios to the 16 commissioners he appointed recently.
The governor sent the names of 16 commissioner-nominees to the state’s House of Assembly last week for screening and consideration as members of the state executive council.
The new commissioners and their portfolios are:
1. Ibrahim Babangida Umar – Budget and Economic Planning
2. Prof. Hannatu Sabo Muhammad – Finance
3. Dr. Muhammad Abdullahi Kainuwa – Health
4. Aminu Kanta – Commerce
5. Ahmed Garba MK – Local Government
6. Ibrahim Garba Hannun Giwa – Water Resources
7. Dr. Lawan Yunusa Danzomo – Basic Education
8. Dr. Isah Yusuf Chamo – Higher Education, Science and Technology
9. Sagir Musa Ahmed – Information, Youth, Sports and Culture
10. Hadiza Abdulwahab – Women Affairs
11. Col. Muhammad Alhassan (rtd) – Lands and Regional Planning
12. Dr. Nura Ibrahim Dandoka – Environment
13. Engr. Gambo Shu’aibu Mallam — Works
14. Auwal Danladi Sankara – Special Duties
