The Winifred Mena Ajakpovi-produced drama with a mental health subject will make its debut on Amazon Prime Video.
The official trailer for Wu Productions’ historical drama “4-4-44,” starring Richard Mofe Damijo, was released in October along with information about the film’s direct-to-streaming launch.
The film’s Nigerian premiere, which was attended by the cast, crew, and notable Nollywood figures, was held in Lagos after the announcement.
In “4-4-44,” which stars RMD, Nse Ikpe-Etim, Teni the Entertainer, Brodashaggi, Alibaba, Chiwetalu Agu, Seun Akindele, Shan George, Efe Irele, and Blessing Onwukwe, two ideal people have their lives turned upside down by a terrifying incident that occurs one fateful day.
“The pair must now deal with a series of incidents that show the social stigma around mental health in its ugly head. And how to survive in a world full of nightmares, whether they do it together or separately, “explains the movie’s producer, Winifred Ajakpovi.
Regarding the pandemic of stigmatization experienced by those dealing with mental health disorders in our culture, RMD stated, “I believe there are times when humanity has been forgotten. However, rather than welcoming those with problems, our response is to stigmatize and mock them.
Added him: “and addressing their problems or mental health issues. If we follow that straightforward command to love our neighbor as ourselves, I believe our natural tendency will be to take care of our neighbors’ needs or look for ways to assist them if they are experiencing difficulties.”
“4-4-44” is slated to premiere on Amazon Prime Video and was shot in Cross River state back in 2021.
