The Senator representing Borno South Senatorial District, Muhammad Ali Ndume, says he has no plans to quit the All Progressives Congress (APC) platform.
He disclosed this on Friday in Abuja where he categorically said ‘no’ he was not planning to leave the APC for the Social Democratic Party (SDP) which has become the bride of many aggrieved APC top politicians of northern extraction and even beyond.
He also warned that the party should however be wary of the move by the CPC dump the APC join the SDP.
He said the threat should not be brushed aside, adding yevery vote matters.
The Senator gave reason why the political gladiators want to leave the ruling party. “If people say that their interests will not be served very well in a particular place, they move, especially in Nigeria, where politics is more of a platform, not ideology. The people can move around and it doesn’t prick their conscience,”,
he said.
Ndume accused the APC-led government of failing to carry along those that worked for the victory of the party was one of the reasons causing the discontent.
According to him, two years into the government; many people feel they have been abandoned and don’t have access to the president.
Ndume said drew the attention of the president to this, adding that instead of Tinubu to address the issue, Ndume said was vilified and attacked.
“Instead, you come back on the pages of the newspapers, start abusing the messenger, instead of addressing the message. And that’s very, very dangerous,” he added.
Ndume said he knew his views would generate backlash but added that he was ready for it. “I don’t care. I said it before when I was on Arise TV.”
