Nigerian Army says the Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) is embarking on a massive recruitment of members, following recent military offensives that led to massive surrendering of the group’s members, including top commanders.
Army’s spokesperson Brig.-General Onyema Nwachukwu, disclosed this during a media tour of the Theater Command of Operation Hadin Kai in Maiduguri, Borno State capital.
Nwachukwu called on the media to help block the recruitment.
He also asked members of the public to be on the lookout within their environment.
