Iranian Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, and his Omani counterpart, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi, had discussed upcoming indirect negotiations between Iran and the U.S…
The discussion took place through a phone call on Sunday night.
According to a statement from Iran’s Foreign Ministry, the two officials reviewed the latest developments in the talks.
The first and second rounds were held in Muscat, the capital of Oman, and Geneva, Switzerland, on Feb. 6 and 17, respectively.
Earlier on Sunday, Araghchi said in an interview on Face the Nation that he would likely meet U.S. President’s special envoy Steve Witkoff in Geneva on Thursday.
He said they would discuss a draft proposal for a potential nuclear agreement to be prepared by Tehran.
A third round of negotiations is expected to take place amid heightened tensions between Tehran and Washington, as well as a U.S. military buildup in West Asia.
