Factional leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) based in Finland, Simon Ekpa and four other individuals, have been arrested by the country’s police for terror-related activities.
A local report in Finland said Ekpa, who declared himself Prime Minister of Biafra Republic Government In-Exile, is now in custody on the order of the district court of Päijät-Häme on suspicion of public incitement to commit a crime with terrorist intent.
The Central Criminal Police in Finland published on its website on Thursday that it arrested five persons on suspicion of terrorist crimes.
The police said the main suspect was arrested “on suspicion of public incitement to commit a crime with terrorist intent”, while four others were arrested “for financing a terrorist crime”.
The police said: “Claims will be heard in Päijät-Häme district court today, November 21.”
