Famous singer, blogger and social media influencer, Abdulra’uf Yusuf, popularly known in the entertainment industry as ‘Captain Arewa’ has disclosed that despite all odds and other challenges posed by the internet, the platform has been presenting a lot of opportunities for Nigerian youths.
The 23-year-old artist disclosed this during an exclusive media chat with 21st CENTURY CHRONICLE.
He without the internet a lot of able youths that are currently doing well on social media and other platforms provided by the internet would have been out there roaming the streets or being involved in one criminal activity or the other trying to make ends meet.
He said various singers, actors and actresses among others that ordinarily wouldn’t have made it to the limelight are currently swimming in the pool of fame due to internet platforms that have given them the opportunity to showcase their talent and be discovered.
“You will agree with me that many of the celebrated artists in the country are discovered through the internet and probably they wouldn’t have been discovered without the internet. However, I personally believe that there is a need for regulatory bodies to be established in monitoring the platforms to avert issues arising,” he said.
