Five high tension towers that supply electricity to Maiduguri, Borno State capital, have been blown off by Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters.
The incident happened Saturday night in Garin Kuturu village, along Maiduguri-Damaturu axis.
Boko Haram had severally destroyed electricity towers causing darkness across Maiduguri and environs.
Many towns and villages in Borno are without electricity and telecommunication services since the 12 years war against Boko Haram, as the terrorists had blown off hundrends of telecommucation masts and electricity towers.
