The Commander of U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM), General Stephen Townsend, says the United State will soon deliver the twelve A-29 Super Tucano light attack purchased by Nigeria.
Townsend disclosed this in a statement after he rounded off a three-day West African visit with a stop in Nigeria.
Nigeria paid the sum of $462m for the aircrafts and a host of other accessories and weapons in April 2018.
The planes are needed to combat Boko Haram insurgency in the north east and other security threats in the country.
Townsend said the U.S. Africa Command will do its part to advance the security cooperation pillar, so that Nigerians can enjoy a more secure future they all deserve.
