A Security and Information Centre (SIC) to provide the residents in Plateau state with access to report on security developments in their locations has been set up.
Gov. Caleb Mutfwang’s Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere disclosed this on Thursday in Jos, adding that the centre would bridge the communication gap between the general public and the government and enable the latter to address security challenges.
The governor who inaugurated the centre, established by the Plateau State Information and Communication Technology Development Agency (PICTDA), was adopting a toll free hotline for information sharing.
The statement said the centre, which has started operation, will serve as a channel for the government to swiftly obtain early warning signals and intervene promptly.
He said it would enable gathering feedback on development matters within the state for appropriate action
Since the new administration of the government, the state has been burdened with continuous attacks in some communities in Mangu Local Government Area and other parts, where more than 300 people have been killed.
