A two-day meeting of 19 Northern State Governors started Thursday in Kaduna with traditional rulers in the region attending.
The meeting is majorly going to discuss the increasing security challenges confronting the region.
Senate President Ahmed Lawan, the president’s Chief of Staff Professor Ibrahim Gambari and the National Security Adviser (NSA) Major General Mohammed Monguno also in attendance.
Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, Inspector General of Police Mohammed Ibrahim and Director General, State Security Services (SSS) are also part of the meeting being held at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim House.
Chairman of the Northern Governors Forum (NGF) Simon Lalong of Plateau state is chairing the meeting with governors of Adamawa, Sokoto, Nasarawa, Jigawa and Katsina.present.
