The third and final phase of the nationwide Continuous Voter Registration will begin on Monday, May 11, 2026, and end on Friday, July 10, 2026.
The Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, Mohammed Kudu Haruna, stated this on Tuesday, saying the second phase was suspended on April 17, 2026, following the publication of the register for claims and objections, a process aimed at cleaning up the voters’ register.
He said the resumption provides another opportunity for eligible Nigerians, particularly those who have recently turned 18 or were unable to register during earlier phases, to enroll.
Haruna told registered voters seeking to transfer their registration, replace lost or damaged Permanent Voter Cards, or correct their bio-data to take advantage of the exercise, saying such services can be accessed through its dedicated online portal or at INEC state and local government area offices nationwide.
He said the display of the Register of Voters for claims and objections will hold from July 23 to July 29, 2026, adding that it was a critical step in ensuring the accuracy, completeness and credibility of the voters’ register.
“The Commission reassures Nigerians that all necessary arrangements have been concluded for the smooth conduct of the exercise,” the statement read.
He appealed to all eligible citizens to participate actively in the registration process, emphasising that broad-based participation remains essential to strengthening Nigeria’s electoral process.
