Top leaders, politicians, and former military officers from Ijaw nation are set to meet for a crucial meeting in Yenagoa on Wednesday, March 26.
A notice of the meeting signed by the national secretary, Ebipanowei Wodu, stated that the sole agenda is the State of the Ijaw Nation.
Deliberation of the State of Emergency in Rivers is expected to feature prominently in the discussion on the state of the Ijaw nation.
It is expected that the Ijaw nation would take a position on the Emergency rule and the suspension of Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
Those expected at the meeting include Jonathan and all current and former governors and deputy governors from Ijaw extraction, all serving and former federal ministers, serving and former federal lawmakers, former Justices of the Supreme Court, former and current state lawmakers of Ijaw extraction, current and former Ambassadors of Ijaw extraction, and all retired military officers not below the rank of Brigadier General from Ijaw extraction.
The meeting would also have in attendance all clan heads, former presidents of INC, all members of the IYC executive committee, former presidents of IYC, all first-class Kings in Ijaw land, three elders from the three zones in Ijaw nation, selected members of the clergy, and leadership of Ijaw Women Connect.
