Operatives from the Police Mobile Force, Counter Terrorism Unit, Special Forces, Intelligence Response Team, the Special Tactical Squad as well as Airwing operatives in charge of unmanned aerial vehicles of the Nigeria Police Force have been deployed to the Kaduna Abuja highway.
The Inspector-General of Police, Alkali Baba Usman, disclosed this on Saturday when he led a patrol along the Abuja-Kaduna highway with some senior officers and others intending to ensure adequate security along the highway.
Usman assured that there was an adequate deployment of men and assets to protect lives and property along the highway, adding that the route was now safe.
He said he has identified out some salient and strategic points along the highway which were immediately fortified with the deployment of these operatives of different units of the Nigeria Police.
Usman said with the strategic and operational deployment of officers along the route, normalcy would once again be restored.
