About four years since he exited office after the completion of his two-term tenure as President of the United States of America, Barack Obama has been unveiled by the forces that propelled him to power as a man with a beguiling spirit. What is meant by a ‘’beguiling spirit’’, the unknowing one would ask. Well, it means someone who is filled with the spirit of deception. He is a person who attracts enormous goodwill and adoration from the watching world while he does not deserve it.
This undeserving goodwill opens the door to the hearts of people to gain for him promotion to heights he or she should not have reached. It will be recalled that when Obama indicated his interest to contest for the presidency, his bid excited the whole world. Even the most racist of racist White souls saw his bid as theirs. If you look back to that time you will agree that Obama’s contention for the USA presidency was the most fascinating event of the 21st century. Almost the whole world wanted him to win and he did.
His birth and parentage, his colour mixture, his upbringing, his dual nationality, his confidence and boldness, the audacity of his active faith, his brilliance and just about everything about this man left the world enthralled. This is a Luo man whose father, a Kenyan, migrated to the USA for his higher education. While there, he got into a relationship with a White woman of a high social class, injected a seed into her which eventually produced a man that came to be known and called Barack Obama. He is an American Black man who was not a descendant of Black slaves. He was simply and truthfully a descendant of an adventurous foreigner, a man from the Luo tribe in Kenya who the Gikuyu tribe will not allow to be president of Kenya but whom American liberality permitted to be their own president. We had out there a man who sought to be president of America who had a grandmother, a jet black woman, living in Kenya. The world had not seen such a thing before and is not likely to ever see such a thing again in this increasingly bigoted world.
Given his quaint or exotic background, many Black people of the world expected that his victory and tenure as president of the USA will result in the uplift of the image of the Blacks in the USA and people of colour wherever they are in the world.
But what can be said as a summation of his presidency? It turned out that he was whiter than the whitest of all the white presidents that America has produced. In fact if you ask some of us the White Black American president we have ever had is Bill Clinton. I can never forget the way Clinton mourned the death of Brown his friend and former Commerce in his (Clinton’s) cabinet. He did much more for Blacks than Obama, a Black man.
In his relationship with Black presidents in Africa, Obama practiced what I choose to call ‘’garrison democracy’’. You either accept the values cherished by most Whites in America and Europe such as lesbianism and homosexuality or you will be treated as shit. Perhaps, Obama’s greatest tragic flaw or the coup d grace of his presidency in the eyes of most Africans was the American led attack on Libya and its eventual destruction and the inhumane killing and obscene display of the corpse of Muammar Ghaddafi the best African leader of all times.
What is the purpose of my recalling the story of Obama of a few years ago? It is to reveal him as a man propelled to power by a non-beneficial supernatural force who used the tool of deception. This is to compare him to the current President Donald Trump who is a straight talking, straight acting guy.
We recall that a few weeks after his election, Obama was named as Time’s Man of the Year. A few weeks later, he was named by the Nobel Committee in Stockholm, Sweden as the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize. In fact it was an error to describe him as a ‘winner’ because he did not contest against any known nominees. The Nobel big wigs just sat and decided to award him that prize purely as a bribe in order to compel him to behave well as the most powerful man in the world. He did not even have the benefit of showing his inclination towards world peace.
In fact, Obama did not need to do anything to win any prize that needed to be awarded to anyone. I can say that if there was any prize with the prestige and honour of the Nobel in the area of exemplary marriage, it would have been awarded to Obama and his wife. Newspapers and magazines sang their praises as a couple who occupied the White House and did not soil it with stories of sexual scandals!. But see now what is happening in the Obama unraveling. We hear that a tall, pretty and leggy woman president of one small country somewhere in Europe is the Sword of Damocles hanging over the marriage of the Obamas.
If Trump were Obama, he would have emerged Time’s Man of the Year for year 2024 for overcoming the fiery darts of millions of his compatriots who did not want him to come back to the White House. If Trump were Obama, the Nobel Committee would have, in October, 2024 ‘frontdated’ him as the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize for 2024 as he seemed certain to defy all the odds and emerge president in the November 2024 presidential election! They would not have waited for him to do all the things he is now doing to make his country the number one in the world.
My man Trump has redefined diplomacy. See the frank and bold manner he has handled Canada, China and Mexico, the axis of evil responsible for the manufacture and distribution/smuggling of a drug, fentanyl, that has emerged as the number one killer of young American persons. See the way he and his Vepee, JD Vance, are handling the comedian-president of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky who always turns out in his ‘presidential uniform’ a tight fitting black polo sweater over a black trousers. They have told him and his European cousins plainly that they are pushing in a war against Russia that they can never ever win and that they are risking a Third World war and so America will no longer be a part of that comedy that has a wide prospect of becoming a tragedy! Because Trump is not Obama, no one will think him worthy of a Nobel Peace Prize which he truly deserves.
