The Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi has reiterated his determination to challenge the electoral process in the court of law.
He disclosed this at a world press conference he addressed on Thursday in Abuja.
“We will explore all legal and peaceful options to reclaim our mandate. We won the election and we will prove it to Nigerians,” he said.
Obi described the system as faulty, adding that Nigerians have been robbed by leaders who have been entrusted with the responsibility of conducting the elections.
According to him, there can be no peace with a faulty foundation. The foundation has to be right for peace to be established.
“It is not about me; it is not about you. It is about the future of our children. We have to build the foundation for peace, justice and fairness.
Obi refused to disclose what he was going to say and so at the court, saying “ I will not disclose what I will do and say on my way to the court.”
He expressed gratitude to Nigerians and especially the youths who he said believed and worked tirelessly for the new Nigerian project.
The LP candidate said a new Nigeria is possible, “we would work for it. I and Datti are committed to a new Nigeria.”
He promised to participate fully in the forthcoming March 11 governorship and state assembly elections, while also urging Nigerians to do the same.
Obi who disassociated himself from any kind of protest in any part of the country said “since after the February 11 elections, I have never done anything to show I don’t want peace.
“Go out and campaign and participate in the governorship election coming up on March 11,” obi admonished Nigerians, while also urging them to remain peaceful, law-abiding and conduct themselves in the most respectful manner.
