Minister of Police Affairs, Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi, says President Muhammadu Buhari will soon take the final decision on suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police Abba Kyari.
Dingyadi said this on Tuesday while featuring on Channels Television programme.
Dingyadi said recommendations would be sent to the president for approval after investigations had been concluded.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) criminal complaint lodged at the United States District Court in California had listed Abass Ramon, aka Hushpuppi; and Kyari, among six suspects indicted in a $1.1m international fraud conspiracy.
Kyari, a former head of Intelligenct Response Team, had been under fire since the FBI unsealed a 69-page court document showing that he had been under investigation by the Bureau for his alleged link to Hushpuppi, who had pleaded guilty to fraud.
The other suspects indicted by the court are AbdulRahman Juma (Abdul); Vincent Kelly Chibuzo (Kelly); Rukayat Motunrayo Fashola (Morayo); and Bolatito Tawakalitu Agbabiaka (Bolamide).
