Two kidnappers have been killed by hunters in an attempt to collect ransom around Itakpe in Okehi local government area of Kogi state.
A security source told 21st CENTURY CHRONICLE that the incident happened in the early hours of Tuesday.
He said some hunters in the area ambushed the kidnappers, killing two of them when they were about to collect from the relatives of their victims. He said one of the kidnappers escaped into the bush with gunshot wounds with captives freed in the operation.
The Divisional Police Officer in the local government, Ovanja Yakubu, confirmed the incident.
He said police operatives from the division have been drafted to join professional hunters to fetch out the third kidnapper dead or alive.
