Former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sule Lamido, has taken on a former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, because of past allegations of Malami made against him.
Lamido, recalling Malami’s current encounter with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, said “who owns what.”
The former Jigawa State Governor recalled that Malami had, severally accused him of being a thief, adding that that the world can now see what has become of Malami.
Lamido told the DCL Hausa, that the the allegations Malami raised against him was politically motivated, saying he served with integrity while in office.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain recalled that “when Abubakar Malami was Minister of Justice, he took me to court and accused me of being a thief. But today, it is clear that what he owns, I do not own. Do I have a hotel in Birnin Kudu or houses in Abuja?”
He said public office holders should be made to account for their tenure, insisting that transparency and accountability were part of good governance.
Lamido told Nigerians to cautious in assessing allegations made in the political space, adding that such claims were made by vested interests.
