Popular social media skit maker, Habib Galadanci (Dan Bello), has revealed that leader of the Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa Iqamatus Sunnah (JIBWIS), Sheikh Abdullahi Bala Lau, has allegedly embezzled multi-million naira contract fund.
Dan Bello revealed that he collaborated with Bauchi-based investigative news platform Wikkitimes, and uncovered significant financial irregularities tied to Mr Lau and companies allegedly affiliated with JIBWIS.
Dan Bello accused Sheikh Lau of having links with over 30 bank accounts and was said to be involved in questionable financial transactions between 2021 and 2023.
He said on December 19, 2022, a company named M & A Integrated Services allegedly got over N130 million to construct five classrooms in Borno, Kaduna, and Plateau states.
He said no construction work was carried out after allegedly collecting the money with photos showing old, dilapidated classrooms as proof of uncompleted projects.
But JIBWIS has denied the allegations in a statement posted on its Facebook page, saying they are false and misleading.
The JIBWIS said Dan Bello was spreading misinformation to tarnish its leader’s reputation.
It said the classroom project was a constituency project of Rep. Mukhtar Aliyu Betara, who had allegedly handed over the contract to the JIBWIS leader for supervision, as the schools were intended for the group.
According to JIBWIS, the College of Education in Jega, was the brain child of Senator Adamu Aliero and was fully executed and commissioned under his oversight.
JIBWIS also threatened to drag Dan Bello to court to prove the allegations.
