Kaduna State Government said
At least 830 persons were kidnapped in the last three months in the last three months across Kaduna State.
This was contained in an official security report from July to September, 2021.
Commissioner Internal Security and Home Affairs Samuel Aruwan made the disclosure while presenting the 3rd quarter security report to the state government on Wednesday.
He said within the period under review 69 bandits were killed in different parts of the state during engagements with security forces.
Aruwan said 1,018 animals were rustled in the state within the third quarter with 780 stolen from the Kaduna central senatorial district.
The commissioner said citizens injured across the state due to banditry, violent attacks, reprisals and communal clashes were 210 in total.
He said there were 77 reports received, relating to destruction of crops across the state notably in Birnin Gwari, Igabi, Giwa, Chikun, Kachia, Kaura, Kauru and Zongon Kataf LGAs.
Governor Nasir El-rufai commended the effort of the security agencies operating in the state and promised to continue to support them.
