Government ministries, hospitals, and public schools have been shut down, as civil Servants commenced strikes across Kaduna state.
21st CENTURY CHRONICLE observed that as early as 8am almost all ministries were locked with padlocks and workers who arrived were seen outside the ministries discussing the strike.
Our correspondent also observed that the state secretariat opposite the Ranchers Bees Stadium was also deserted.
Vehicles were seen parked by the roadsides as they were refused access to the premises of the secretariat.
21st CENTURY CHRONICLE reports that public schools in Tudun Wada have been deserted, as neither staff nor students were seen in the vicinity.
At the Kaduna State University Teaching Hospital (Barau Dikko Hospital), staff were also seen in groups chatting, as patients were leaving the premises.
“No doctors to attend to us and I came here in the morning,” one of the patients waiting to see a doctor told our reporter.
Security agencies comprising the police, military, immigration and vigilantes were deployed at the gate of the Kaduna Government House, and the State House of Assembly.
Our reporter also observed that the General Hospital Sabon Tasha and Gwamna Awan General Hospital, Nasarawa, have been closed and patients discharged.
The male, female, accident, and emergency wards of the hospitals were closed, while some hospital personnel were seen outside in groups discussing the strike.
Also, a visit to some Primary Health Centers in Kakuri, Nasarawa Yelwa, and Sabo Tasha are all closed down and no one to attend to patients.
Some of the patients seen outside the hospital have appealed to the government to negotiate with the labour unions to enable services to resume at the hospitals.
