The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)’s office in Igboeze North Local Government Area of Enugu State has been reportedly set ablaze by unknown persons.
The state government had recently imposed curfew in Igboeze North and Igboeze South LGAs following attacks by gunmen.
The government also banned the services of commercial motorcyclists in the affected LGAs.
According to the Nation, the INEC office in Ogurute, the headquarters of Igboeze North was torched Sunday night by the assailants.
The report said the officials of the Fire Service couldn’t immediately move in for fear of being attacked, adding that by the time security personnel were drafted to the area, the office had been completely gutted by the fire.
