Security agencies have made massive deployments around the Kano State Government House on Monday following reports that Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf may defect from NNPP to APC.
A 21st CENTURY CHRONICLE correspondent observed a strong security presence at the seat of government, with personnel drawn from the Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services (DSS) and that of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC) at the main entrance of the Kano State government house.
However, the public has been waiting for the announcement of the governor’s planned defection though no official statement has been issued to confirm the governor’s alleged defection is out yet.
It was gathered that political tension seems to be on the rise ever since the governor’s alleged defection plan became public. The political circle in the state is faced with confusion, anxiety and suspense
It was reliably gathered that about 9 police and other security vehicles were stationed at the government house entrance with dozens of armed security personnel. However, movement into the government house is strictly monitored and restricted.
Kano people are currently apprehensive on the governor’s plan while others still believe the alleged defection plan will ease their tension and were eager to hear the defection announcement.
