Sadiq Saleh, a talented and versatile Hausa musician, songwriter, producer and a performer, has revealed that the Hausa music industry is strongly evolving and will soon take over the music industry in Kano.
Sadiq was born on the 2 February 1998. He attended Bulabulin Day Senior Secondary school in Maiduguri, Borno State before venturing into music in 2017. According to him, the emergence of social media platforms has given the industry an armful of opportunities to explore and thrive.
The singer said visible evidence has shown that Hausa singers are now being recognized not only within the corridor of Nigerian music scenes but also in the global scene. He explained that many Hausa musicians are now regular faces in international concerts and are doing well in the global entertainment arena.
“It will interest you to note that I started music when I was in my first year as Senior Secondary School student, that was when I was in SS1. Ever since I didn’t stop appreciating the industry as it kept evolving and transforming the entertainment sector. The music Industry has been one of the highest employment providers in Nigeria and as such, the sector should be made attractive to young people,” he said.
“I can authoritatively tell you that I was born with a passion for music and a gift for storytelling, at very young age people kept telling me that I have a good voice for music. They told me I have a powerful voice that can be used in making good songs. Fortunately, when it was time for me to try it, they were proven right as my songs were termed as captivating and have earned me a dedicated followership and fans in the entertainment sector.”
The young singer claimed that he had not faced any serious challenge when he decided to venture into music because his ability has spoken on his behalf “I have faced any serious resistance because as I have told you earlier, people have tipped me for being a potential entertainer. Therefore, when I started doing music, it was like following an already prepared pattern. I didn’t face any form of resistance, if I did face anything, I can say it was managing my early fame.
But as always, I wasn’t alone. A lot of my fellow artists have really assisted me in managing my fame. I wholeheartedly agreed that I am very young and in need of guidance, that is why I am very careful in what I do.,” he said
