The self-exiled royal and his wife, Megan Markle, have been invited by King Charles III to his coronation in May, even as Prince Harry and the British Royal Family are still embroiled in controversy,
The Duke has lately received email correspondence from His Majesty’s office regarding the coronation, a representative for the couple said on Saturday to The Times, UK.
The invitation comes after the pair had made a number of public criticisms of the British monarchy.
After leaving their position as Senior Royals in 2020, the pair relocated to America with Archie, their first child. Lilibet, their daughter was born in the United States.
In a shocking interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, Harry and Megan leveled accusations against unknown royals of racism.
In December 2022, the couple made a Netflix documentary on their hard experiences as Royal family members following their marriage in 2018.
In his recent memoir “Spare,” Harry also discussed his strained relationship with his father and older brother, Prince William.
The article from January 2023 included Harry’s allegations that William assaulted him during a dispute about Meghan and that the incident materially damaged their relationship.
The Duke and Duchess were asked to leave Frogmore Cottage, their residence in Great Britain, over the weekend in what appears to be reprisal by the Royal House.
It is unclear if the Duke and Duchess will accept the invitation. “An immediate decision on whether The Duke and Duchess will attend will not be disclosed by us at this time,” their spokesperson told Times..
