Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed has been elected as the National Chairman of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP).
This was posted on Baba-Ahmed’s verified Facebook page after his emergence, expressing gratitude to party members for the confidence reposed in him.
He said “I am grateful for the trust and confidence they have placed in me,” he said, and called
on Nigerians, particularly those he described as “good people” seeking solutions to the country’s challenges, to join the party.
Baba-Ahmed said “PRP is inviting good people who fear God and are seeking solutions to the situation our country is in to join PRP. Our country is in a very bad condition, especially in the North,” he added.
He accused the leaders of major political parties of prioritising power over the welfare of citizens, saying “our current leaders and their associates in the two or three major parties are not seeking solutions for the common people. What they want is power so they can continue to ruin our lives.”.
According to him, the political elite share similar motives, saying, “all they want is power.”
Baba-Ahmed appealed to Nigerians to support the PRP, saying the country’s problems are solvable “but only if we reject the oppressors.”
The PRP chairman said Nigeria’s challenges persist because of deliberate actions by political actors.
He said “people must first understand the traps set for us by politicians. Instead of seeking solutions, they divide us and set us against each other, while they sit comfortably enjoying our wealth,” he stated. Reaffirming the party’s stance, Baba-Ahmed said PRP members are driven by sincerity rather than personal gain.
“We in PRP are sincere. If we were only after positions or wealth, we would have already joined APC, ADC or PDP.”
