Flynas Airline will perform the 2024 Hajj inaugural flight with Kebbi State pilgrims on May 15, the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), has announced.
Flynas, a Saudi—designated Nigerian Hajj air carrier, will airlift 423 intending pilgrims from Jega and Arewa Local Government Areas including their Hajj guides during the inaugural flight.
This was revealed by the Chairman/CEO of the Commission, Malam Jalal Ahmad Arabi, at the 1st National Stakeholders Hajj and Umrah Summit held at the Shehu Musa Yar’adua Centre, Abuja, Thursday.
The 2-day event is themed: “Partnership, Collaboration, and Teamwork: The Tripod of Success for
2024 Hajj Operations.”
The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of First Planet Travels Limited, a General Sales Agent (GSA) of Flynas in Nigeria, said the airline will airlift pilgrims from Lagos, Osun, Ogun, Borno, Niger, Sokoto, Kebbi, Yobe and Zamfara states.
The Chairman of Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Faruku Aliyu Yaro-Enabo, has earlier said the Flynas second flight would convey another 423 pilgrims from Argungu and Dandi local government areas.
Mr Yaro-Enabo said pilgrims from Kalgo, Aliero, Bunza and Gwandu LGAs were expected to make the third flight, the pilgrims from Birnin Kebbi LGA have been scheduled for the fourth flight, while the fifth flight would carry pilgrims from Zuru, Danko Wasago, Fakai and Koko Bese LGAs.
He said the Bagudo LGA pilgrims would make the sixth flight, and the Yauri, Shanga and Ngaski LGAs would be conveyed in the seventh flight whereas the eighth flight would airlift pilgrims from Maiyama and Augie LGAs.
The very last flight, he said, would convey the remaining intending pilgrims from all the 21 LGAs, including the State Governor, Dr Nasir Idris, and other officials.
Mr Arabi said over 65, 000 pilgrims would be performing this year’s hajj, assuring readiness and commitment to airlift everyone to and fro Saudi Arabia without any hassle.
NAHCON’s Commissioner in charge of Operations, Inspectorate, and Licensing, Prince Elegushi, said sof Thursday evening, over 26,000 visas have been processed.
