The immediate past First Lady of Oyo State, Mrs Florence Ajimobi, has made cash donations to the state pilgrims in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
She said this was done to complement the efforts of the Oyo State Government in boosting the living conditions of the state pilgrims in the holy land.
The money was given to a former Chairman of Ibadan North East Local Government Lekan Afuye, and was distributed among the female pilgrims in the state contingents.
Mr Afuye said the former First Lady was deeply touched by the news of the travails of the pilgrims in Makkah and consequently transferred the money to support their upkeep.
Mrs Ajimobi was reported to have appreciated the efforts of Governor Seyi Makinde and the Amir Hajj who is also the State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Bayo Lawal in ensuring that the pilgrims are promptly brought back to the country.
Expressing gratitude to Mrs Ajimobi for the cash donations, the wife of the former Chairman of Ibadan North East Local Government. Alhaja Aderonke Afuye, who supported her husband during the distribution of the cash gifts to beneficiaries in Makkah, described the donor as a kind hearted woman, who has imbibed the culture of assisting the needy.
