The Emir of Gwandu, Alhaji Muhammadu Iliyasu Bashar, on Thursday lifted the suspension slammed on Wazirin Gwandu, Alhaji Abdullahi Umar.
The decision, according to a letter seen by 21st Century Chronicle, was taken after an intervention by the Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar.
The “decision was informed by His Royal Highness due consideration following intervention of His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto on the issue,” the letter signed by the emirate’s secretary, Alhaji Musa Usman Bashar, said.
The Waziri was, however, warned “to desist from such unguarded utterances and ranting at any moment in the future.”
The suspension was announced in a letter dated February 23, 2021, and signed by the secretary to the emirate council, Alhaji Musa Usman Bashar.
The suspension, according to the letter, was based on the emir’s stance on the letters the Waziri wrote to the council’s secretary, dated February 9, 2021; another letter tendered through the council secretary to Usman Dalhatu Zaria; and other letters the suspended council member sent to other persons known to him.
