Three cousins of the spokesperson for Benue State Police Command, SP Catherine Anene, and four others have been murdered by gunmen.
The victims were attacked at Tse Gamber in Sengev and Nagi, Mbachohon Council wards, all in Gwer West local government area of Benue State.
Locals said the communities were targeted by the gunmen in a swift and coordinated attack on Sunday.
An anonymous native said, “Four people were killed at Tse Gamber in Sengev Council ward, while three others were killed at Camp Nagi in Mbachohon Council ward, located along Naka-Agagbe road.”
Several people were wounded in the attacks on the communities.
Anene said “three of my cousins were killed, and that is the total number.”
