Pastor Emmanuel Ezeoikwe has been murdered at his residence in Zinal village, Song Local Government Area of Adamawa State
The spokesperson for the State Police Command, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said the attack was reported to the police at about 6:30 am, adding that suspected gunmen invaded the village and shot the victim.
Nguroje said police found the lifeless body of the victim and rushed him to a hospital.
“He was, however, confirmed dead by a medical doctor, while the corpse was deposited at the hospital morgue for autopsy,” the statement read.
He said three empty AK-47 shells were recovered at the scene, adding that the Commissioner of Police, Kabir Hassan, has ordered a investigation and deployed tactical teams to track down the perpetrators.
He urged members of the public to remain calm and provide useful information to aid the investigation.
