A pregnant woman has been killed and her husband abducted by gunmen along Ojoku road, near Divisional Police Headquarters, in Offa local government area of Kwara State.
The spokesperson of the state Police Command, Ajayi Okasanmi, confirmed the incident on Sunday.
A source told 21st CENTURY CHRONICLE that the incident happened at about 7pm on Saturday when the husband of the deceased, Lukman Ibrahim, was driving his pregnant wife, identified as Hauwa, their son and his father-in-law home, when the gunmen stopped them, shot the wife and takeaway the husband.
He said the wife died at the spot after she was shot and had since been buried.
Okasanmi said operatives from the police command are working hard to get the kidnapped victim rescued, and arrested the perpetrators of the crime.
