Kidnappers have seized the wife of the District Head of Aboro in Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Alhaji Shuaibu Suleiman Galadima, Harira Abdullahi, and his daughter, Maryam Suleiman Galadima.
The gunmen stormed the community around 7:36 pm on Sunday and went straight to the district head’s residence and took away the two women.
An anonymous local revealed this on Monday morning, saying the attack threw the area into confusion as residents mobilised to rescue the abducted victims.
“But as we followed them into the bush to try and rescue the kidnapped persons, the gunmen opened fire on us. Sadly, they shot dead one of our members, Umar Abdullahi, and injured another, Suleiman, who is currently receiving treatment at a hospital,” he said.
The local said the victim had been buried according to Islamic rites.
He called on the government and security agencies to intensify efforts to secure the release of the abducted wife and daughter of the traditional ruler, and to ensure the safety of the community.
The state police spokesperson, DSP Mansir Hassan, was yet respond to inquiries as of the time of filing this report.
